Word Clouds: How to Turn Your Books Into Art
How to Turn Your Books Into Art I’ve had a lot of fun playing with word clouds on a website called Tagul. It’s pretty easy to turn your book into art for your readers, and it doubles as an editing tool by letting you see how many times you’re using those pesky repetitive words, such as always, like, and very. Here’s How it Works Once you finish your manuscript, open the website and click create. Import your text where it says “words” and scan through the list. The program automatically eliminates apostrophes so you’ll have to manually delete all the …

The 2019 Valentine’s Gift Pack
Hello Readers, The 2018 holiday gift pack was such a hit, I decided to do it again for Valentine’s Day. This time I’m offering you the choice of three different books. I’ll try to change it up every season and do different books so you have the opportunity to collect them all. Make sure to tell me the name you want me to make the book out to and it’s totally fine to give yourself a Valentine’s gift. I won’t judge. I’m also offering the same deal to my international fans though I can’t guarantee I can get the books …
The Lantern’s Ember Tour Report
It was a whirlwind tour month for me. I was kept very busy through October with travel and got to see many of my readers as I promoted The Lantern’s Ember. For those of you who missed seeing me, here’s a recap of what happened. I started off at Salt Lake Comic Con, doing four panels and two book signings. My book signings were amazing and I was kept busy the entire hour on each signing day despite the fact that the wonderful sponsoring bookstore ran out of The Lantern’s Ember before my second book signing. Somehow, I managed to …

I have been looking forward to sharing this book with all of you for a long time. The first thing you need to know about The Lantern’s Ember is… This is the book I never knew I always wanted to write! Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love the classic monsters and the harvest theme and this book gives you all of that. What you don’t know is that this book is also my first try at writing steampunk. The idea of steampunk has always fascinated me but I wasn’t sure I knew enough about it to write a whole …

The Tiger’s Dream Pre-Launch Party!
For all of my fans who wished they could have attended the pre-launch party for Tiger’s Dream but didn’t get to, here’s my party report. Lucky for me, I had a trusted team of friends and relatives to make it all work including my hubby, my mom, two sisters, and two friends. Two handled the tickets, one sold books, my sister, Linda, was the emcee, while my other sister ran the PowerPoint for the game. We started out with a word search. If you’d like doing those, here’s a copy you can print out. We had around eighty fans in …
The Lantern’s Ember
Hello Readers! I’m bringing you something special today, it’s the cover reveal for The Lantern’s Ember. I have been in love with Halloween since I was a kid. It probably started because my birthday is in October and I really love chocolate, so that month has always been an exiting one for me. My whole house is decorated for Halloween. As you can see, I tend to go a little overboard. Kids would drive into our neighborhood from all over the city since our whole area is super fun at Halloween. Kids who come to my house get full size …
New Book Reveal!
Hello Readers! I am so excited to finally tell you about my top secret book project. I’ve been working on it since February and now we’re finally ready to tell you all about it! As many of you know, I love Halloween. I decorate my entire home and we average about three hundred and fifty trick-or-treaters every year. I always ask the older kids if they are at least twelve and they hang their heads in shame thinking I won’t be giving them any candy, but then they gasp in surprise when I tell them they get candy AND a …
