Movie Review Double Feature: Noah & Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Movie Review: Noah Colleen’s Movie Review Romance: Not too much going on in the way of romance between Noah and his wife and the angst felt between Ila and Shem was more heartfelt when they were kids holding hands. As adults or, I guess, young adults they were already committed to each other so we didn’t get to see any of that relationship develop. Special Effects: The animals loading into the ark was pretty cool though it was obvious all the animals were CGI. Even the dove. The rain was a torrential flood of epic proportions that happened so quickly the …
Movie Review: Muppets Most Wanted
Movie Review: Muppets Most Wanted Colleen’s Movie Review Romance: Oh boy. There was a scene when Constantine posing as Kermit sang Piggy a love song called “I’ll Get You What You Want,” while dancing in a disco-like setting with an unbuttoned white shirt that showed off his…er…green chest ruffle. It was so awesome! Special Effects: Not really applicable. What I Liked: The music, the songs, the jokes, the Muppets, the cameos, especially the one at the end when they revealed who was trapped inside the box at the prison. That voice was driving me crazy and I laughed my head off …
Movie Review: Divergent
Movie Review: Divergent Colleen’s Movie Review Romance: Even though there wasn’t nearly enough kissing going on to make me happy, the friction between Four and Tris was sizzling regardless. There was an understated sort of steam that intensified every time Four looked at her. Deliciously electrifying. Special Effects: I think my favorite thing about this was the setting. I recognized many of the Chicago buildings so to see them pretty much ready to topple was an interesting backdrop. The glow-in-the-dark flags and the stun guns were cool. Other than that I don’t remember too many special effects. What I Liked: …
Movie Review: Pompeii
Movie Review: Pompeii Colleen’s Movie Review Romance: Oh boy. So here’s the development of the romance. Slave/Gladiator steps up to kill her maimed horse She likes horses He’s a sort of horse whisperer They’re in love Come on Hollywood. A girl needs just a little bit more reason than that. Still somehow even though she’s only seen the guy twice and heard him say maybe a total of 20 words she already knows he’s “everything the Roman senator is not.” I’m not really sure if either character actually had any chemistry with each other since I pretty much felt nothing …
Double Feature Movie Review: Vampire Academy & Winter’s Tale
Movie Review: Vampire Academy Colleen’s Movie Review Romance: Each of the girls had a romantic interest, so I’ll go with the blonde, Lissa, first. Her guy was Christian and he is very cute and swoonworthy with a good amount of fan girl potential. His romance scenes were a little too teenybopper for me with the exception of one really good kiss when she wasn’t expecting it. The brunette, Rose, had a love interest much too old for her named Dimitri. Despite this, their chemistry was good, near combustible even, and probably due to his age it felt much more mature …
Movie Review: The Legend of Hercules
Movie Review: The Legend of Hercules Colleen’s Movie Review Romance: Okay. Kellan Lutz provided some good steam and I liked the characters together but there really weren’t enough romantic scenes to make me happy. Special Effects: Kind of a PG13 version of 300. Lots of cool frozen rain shots or giant leaps in the air with the camera swirling around. The Nemean lion was just not believable as either a lion or a monster. What I Liked: The lighting whip when Zeus struck the sword of Hercules. The scenery was beautiful. Kellan Lutz. Costumes. Oh and the girl’s golden hair clippies. …
