SCAVENGER HUNT PUZZLE RULES

DIRECTIONS: Below, you’ll notice that I’ve listed my favorite number. Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on TEAM BLUE, and then add them up (don’t worry, you can use a calculator!)

HINT: THE SECRET NUMBER IS HIGHLIGHTED IN BLUE!

ENTRY FORM: Once you’ve added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.

RULES: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by SUNDAY, October 4th, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

On this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each participating YA author, you also get a secret number. Add up the numbers, and enter it for a chance to win a major prize–one lucky winner will receive at least one signed book from each author on my team in the hunt! But play fast. This contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online until noon PST on Sunday, October 4th!

There are EIGHT contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the BLUE TEAM, but there is also a RED TEAM, GOLD TEAM, ORANGE TEAM, PINK TEAM, PURPLE TEAM, TEAL TEAM, & GREEN TEAM! Check out each team for a chance to win eight different sets of signed books!

BIO: SHONNA SLAYTON is the author of the YA novels Cinderella’s Dress, (Summer 2014) and Cinderella’s Shoes (Fall 2015) published by Entangled Teen. She finds inspiration in reading vintage diaries written by teens, who despite using different slang, sound a lot like teenagers today. When not writing, Shonna enjoys amaretto lattes and spending time with her husband and children in Arizona.

Here’s a Sneak Peek into the mind of the mastermind behind Cinderella’s Shoes,

Glitter

drawing Growing up, I watched my mom go through many craft phases. At one point she had these tempting little containers filled with glitter. I have no recollection of what she used them for, but I remember wanting to play with them. So. Badly. And then glitter went everywhere. Oh, glitter is messy.

Fast forward to a few months ago on Pinterest where I found fashion-design artist Katie Rodgers. She reminded me about my love of glitter. She paints these gorgeous images of runway clothes and adds glitter and sequins, and the results are stunning. So I took her Skillshare classes to learn how to do it myself. Here is my re-creation of her design from one of the classes.

unnamed Then I went rogue and tried to recreate my book cover images. (It’s harder going rogue; I need more practice.) I’d like to get good enough at this that I can paint inside my novels to make extra-special giveaways.

In the mean-time. My book launch party is coming up on Oct 6 and I plan to glitter the shoe inside the front cover of Cinderella’s Shoes. Ah, glitter. It’s so pretty.
